The University of Louisville and our Louisville community lost a great man in our coach, Denny Crum. To say the least, he was the best ambassador for all that he supported. He was often asked why his scholarship foundation was so important to him and he would respond by saying, “As a coach, some of the best times of my life were providing scholarships to students, which changed the trajectory of the future for their families. Through my scholarship foundation, we can continue to do that.”
The Denny Crum Scholarship Foundation will continue its efforts to honor Coach Denny Crum and his family while providing a pathway to education for the future of the Louisville community. Since 2001, The Denny Crum Scholarship Foundation has awarded over $1.6 million dollars benefiting over 525 students.

About The Fund
The Denny Crum Scholarship Fund at UofL awards scholarships to individuals who have demonstrated leadership, community service, and academic achievement.
Now, the Denny Crum Scholarship Fund's mission is simple:
- Keep our community’s best and brightest students in Louisville at the University of Louisville
- Provide 100 scholarships annually, perpetually
- Cement the Legacy of Denny Crum
About the Denny Crum Scholarship
This scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors, high school graduates, or community college transfer students from the greater Louisville area that are admitted to, or enrolled in, a degree granting program at the University of Louisville. The recipient shall be selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership, community service, and academic achievement. Unusual family or personal circumstances may also be considered.

Please note: Preference is given to students whose personal statement describes how they have demonstrated leadership, community service, and academic achievement.
Eligible Scholarship Applicants
Planning to enroll in a post-secondary accredited degree or certificate program at the University of Louisville. Current high school seniors, high school graduates, and junior college transfers from the Greater Louisville area (KY: Jefferson, Oldham, Bullitt, Spencer, or Shelby counties; IN: Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Washington or Scott counties) and are under the age of 23 at the time of application. Older applicants may be considered, but he/she must demonstrate special circumstances deserving of education.
Awards will be based upon the applicant’s demonstrated commitment to leadership and community service, academic achievement, volunteer involvement, personal circumstances and an applicant appraisal.

- Resume listing detailed volunteer involvement and leadership experience
